125th Anniversary Calendar

SEPTEMBER 7th 2008 Mini's Registration Day
SEPTEMBER 14th 2008 Family Fun Day - After an hours training for the Mini Section, all members, their families and friends are invited to join us for the event to kick off the anniversary celebrations. The day will include a barbeque, ice-creams, mini assault course and lots of side shows such as hoop-la, skittles, target golf, penalties, coconut shy and even a chance to throw wet sponges at the club coaches who will be taking their turn in the stocks! The event is due to start at 11.00 and events will run until mid-afternoon. The bar will of course be open for the whole day!
SEPTEMBER 20th 2008 Old Boys Reunion - These have been very popular for the past few years and this is the first chance for our former players to come along and see what the club has to offer in it's anniversary season. A buffet will be provided as well as entertainment (to be decided). This is certain to be an event not to miss.
OCTOBER 5th 2008 Under 18s v Somerset - This is the first of our representative matches during the year and should be a game not to miss. Many of our players have represented the county over the years and this is a chance to show how the whole team play together against some top class opposition.
OCTOBER 25th 2008 Ladies Day - In the style of Ascot, this will be a chance for all Wives, Girlfriends, Daughters, Mums, Grans, Aunts and anybody else of the fairer sex to put on their Sunday best, dust off their best hat and come and be pampered for the day. The men will be doing the after match meals that day as well as laying on a light buffet for the ladies and looking after their every need (within limits!) during the afternoon. Everybody invited to come along and make sue this is a day to remember.
NOVEMBER 15th 2008 Club Ball - This is always a special event in the annual calendar and the 125th Anniversary Ball promises to be an even bigger occasion than usual. What better way to thank your Wife or Girlfriend for supporting you through the season than to take her to a 'posh do' for some good grub and a bit of a dance? To allow more people to join us we have selected a much bigger venue near Bath and the evening will include a disco. A coach will run from the club (and back) so there are no excuses for not coming and having a great evening.
DECEMBER 27th 2008 Boxing Day Game - Yes it will be a day late but as this will be a free Saturday in the fixture list the traditional club friendly will be held to help everyone work off the Turkey and Christmas Pudding. All welcome to play, watch or just to enjoy a drink and some socialising at the bar.
MARCH 28th 2009 Old Boys Reunion - The second of the season and another chance to catch up with old friends.
MARCH 29th 2009 Under 13's Festival - Our Under 13's have 'come of age' this season and are now playing 15-a-side matches on a full size pitch. This will be a chance to see how they (and other local sides) have adapted to the game in their first 15-a-side tournament at home.

APRIL 18th - 19th 2009 Mini's Tournament - Under 7's & Under 8's on day 1, Under 9's, 10's & 11's on day 2. These tournaments are always enjoyable with so many minis having fun playing and learning the game.
APRIL 25th 2009 Rugby Match v Bath Combination. This will be the game not to miss where many of our friends from other local teams come to Avonvale for a special challenge match. Further details later.
MAY 2nd 2009 Under 18's Festival - A 7-a-side tournament where our youth players have the opportunity to challenge other local sides at this much quicker, crowd-pleasing version of the game.
